Barcode Scanner: Potential Features
Company Analysis
Enhancing our AI barcode scanner to provide insights about the company behind each product, allows it to scan the web for any recent or past reports of the company misrepresenting ingredient information or having a history of cross-contamination issues. If any such concerns are found, a unique alert will appear, highlighting these issues for the traveller. Where possible, the app will also link directly to relevant news articles or legal actions, providing travellers with a more transparent look into the product's safety.
Food Recall Alerts
When a food product is scanned, the app will remember and monitor the web for any news related to it over a specified period. It will track whether the product has been recalled for any reason and send an urgent notification to travellers with food sensitivities if this occurs. The alert will include the product’s name, image, and the reason for the recall, ensuring travellers are quickly informed about any potential safety concerns.
Multiple User Profiles
An additional feature of an account would be to create multiple user profiles for different friends or family in one account. This will allow families and groups of friends to manage their dietary restrictions efficiently. Each user will be able to maintain their personalized settings, such as specific allergies and language preferences, ensuring tailored experiences for each individual.
AI Chatbot
With the integration of an AI Chatbot, it will offer instant, personalized assistance for questions related to food safety, ingredient details, and travel specific allergy information. This chatbot would serve as a personal guide, empowering travellers to navigate unfamiliar cuisines and regulatory environments with ease.
