As we move forward in developing GoldiBite, we’re excited to share our latest progress through hi-fi wireframes. These designs represent our commitment to solving real problems faced by travellers with food allergies or sensitivities.
Barcode Scanner Screens
The first screen allows travellers to scan a product's barcode automatically or enter it manually if scanning is not feasible. This dual approach ensures reliability and accessibility, accommodating different traveller's needs and possible technical challenges (e.g., poor camera focus, and damaged barcodes).
Core Value Alignment: The app prioritizes traveller's safety by offering accurate product information and an alternative input method, making the experience inclusive and minimizing possible accidental ingestion.
Product Analysis Screen
Once the barcode is scanned or entered, it will display detailed product information, including the product name, ingredient list, and highlighted allergens that may pose a risk to the traveller. The design focuses on clarity and simplicity, displaying allergens that are personalized to the traveller, minimizing complexity, and therefore minimizing confusion. Not only are the allergens personalized to the traveller's needs, but they also highlight the ingredients that may contain the allergen so that travellers can see the complete list of ingredients and the possible allergens.
Core Value Alignment: The screens provide an easy-to-understand design, clearly listing and highlighting potential dangers to help reduce the risk of accidental ingestion of possible allergens. Therefore, empowering and assisting travellers in making informed decisions.
Menu Scanner Screens
It provides travellers with a safe dining experience by allowing them to scan or upload a menu photo to identify allergens in made-to-order items. Travellers can switch seamlessly between the menu and barcode scanners, ensuring easy access to allergen information in any setting. After confirming the photo, our mascot, Goldi the Bear, will indicate loading, creating a friendly and reassuring user experience.
Once processed, the app displays a list of menu items with ingredient details and allergen icons, organized by mealtime (e.g., breakfast, lunch, dinner) for easy navigation. Travellers can add items to an order list, which can be shown to the waiter, along with an allergen alert to ensure safe preparation and reduce the risk of accidental exposure.Core Value Alignment: By offering detailed, accessible allergen information and facilitating clear communication with restaurant staff, the menu scanner prioritizes travellers' safety, empowering them to make informed food choices and avoid allergens, particularly in unfamiliar dining environments.
Onboarding Screens
These onboarding screens introduce travellers to the app's features, familiarizing them with its functionality. The sign-up process is streamlined with options to log in via email or Google, making access quick and simple. Travellers are guided through steps to personalize the app to their specific needs, including customizing allergens to ensure features are tailored to their unique requirements.

For example, in the product analysis screen, the allergens are tailored according to each traveller, minimizing confusion and allowing travellers to easily understand and see what products they might be allergic to.
Guides Screens
The guides section provides travellers with essential information on managing allergies, offering tailored tips for both adults and children. The guides have a variety of tips and information to help travellers prevent potential allergic situations and educate them about accidental ingestion of allergens. In each guide, we included clear, step-by-step instructions to help travellers act confidently and appropriately based on their specific needs.

These easy-to-follow guides ensure that both adults and children have the information needed to respond effectively in case of an allergic reaction.
Setting Screens
It enables travellers to personalize their app experience, including options for profile management, language, location, notifications, and allergy preferences. These settings allow users to tailor the app to their specific needs, enhancing usability, accessibility, and safety.
Core Value Alignment: The Settings screens prioritize traveller's safety by offering tailored options for language, location, allergens, and emergency contact information. Making the app adaptable to each user's specific circumstances and ensuring they are well-supported in managing their allergies.
Emergency Screen
This is where all the SOS buttons lead. We designed this feature for those who may be travelling and might not know the local emergency number. In an emergency, travellers may not have time to search for the correct number, so we created this quick-access button to connect them directly with emergency authorities, ensuring they can get assistance as quickly as possible. We also used the bright red colour for the buttons to immediately draw attention and convey urgency, aligning with the universal association of red with emergency situations.
